Electrical Panel Upgrades

100A to 200A upgrades, fuse-box replacements, and sub-panels, with the ESA inspection handled for you. Licensed, insured, and always with a free quote before we start, anywhere in Toronto or the GTA.

What we do

A lot of GTA houses are still running on the service they were built with, often 60 or 100 amps, sometimes behind a fuse box. That was fine for a stove and a furnace fan; it’s not fine once you add an EV charger, a heat pump, or a basement suite. We upgrade services to 200 amps, convert fuse boxes to breaker panels, and install sub-panels for garages, workshops, and suites, so your home has the capacity it actually needs.

A service upgrade touches the utility, the meter, and everything downstream, so we run it start to finish: load calculation, ESA notification, coordination with your local hydro utility for the disconnect and reconnect, and the inspection at the end. Most upgrades are done in a day, with power back on the same evening. Quotes are free, the price is set before we start, and the work carries our 1-year workmanship warranty, backed by ECRA/ESA Licence #7019085 and $5 million in liability insurance.

  • Fuse box → breaker panel conversion
  • Sub-panels for garages & suites

When to call us

  • Your panel is 60A or 100A and you want an EV charger or heat pump
  • Fuses still in the basement, or a stash of spares on top of the box
  • Insurer flagged the panel, or won’t renew until it’s replaced
  • No free breaker slots left for a renovation or new circuit
  • Breakers trip regularly when big appliances run together

How it works

Quote. Work. Warranty.

  1. Assessment and load calc

We inspect your existing service and panel, run the load calculation for what you’re adding, and give you a free written quote for the right upgrade, with the ESA and utility steps included.

  2. Upgrade day

We coordinate the utility disconnect, replace the service and panel, land and label every circuit, and get your power back on, typically the same day the work starts.

  3. ESA inspection and warranty

The upgrade is filed with the ESA and inspected, and you keep the paperwork, which insurers and future buyers ask for. The panel is labelled, the site is clean, and the work is covered by our 1-year warranty.

Common questions

Do I need to upgrade to 200 amps for an EV charger?

Not always. A load calculation tells us whether your existing service can carry a charger alongside what’s already in the house. Some 100-amp homes qualify, especially with a load-management device. When the math doesn’t work, a 200-amp upgrade is the clean fix and leaves room for a heat pump or suite later. We run the numbers as part of the free quote and give you a straight answer either way.

How long is my power off during a panel upgrade?

For most single-family homes, the power is off for part of one working day. We coordinate the disconnect and reconnect with your utility in advance, so the outage window is planned, not open-ended. Fridges and freezers ride through it fine if they stay closed. The job is filed with the ESA and inspected, and the price you approved before work started is the price you pay.
